I really like Nancy Straight's writing style; it flows smoothly. She is able to create strong and independent main characters. Lauren has a sixth sense...for danger. She just needs to learn how to use and assess her sixth sense.She learned she could communicate with Rewsna telepathically. I perceived that Rewsna was like an overseer(). She clued Lauren in to the fact that her Destiny (Max) needed to be awakened to long forgotten memories and Lauren held the key. Max would be every woman's fantasy lover. He came on strong early in the story, but his character seemed to weaken as the story progressed.There was a lot of incredible action in this story. First a burglary at the diner she worked in, then a dilemma at the mall where she feared for her friend's life, helping the guy she had been suspicious of but learned she had sensed danger for him rather than from him and his destiny, and finally her trip into the mountains with Max that ended with Lauren waking two and a half years of being in a coma.The ending of Book one seemed kind of rushed with so many questions unanswered. Because Meeting Destiny is completely unique. Different.And for those who read a lot, like me, different is GREAT.Let's make it simple. I'll divide my review in sections before I start with my not so uncommon non sense rambling XDCover: Beautiful! I can totally picture Lauren as the girl in it.Plot: As I said, unique. Mesmerizing and intriguing since page 1. Sometimes books take a while to become interesting, MEETING DESTINY draw me in from the very first paragraph.I admit that being a paranormal book, at the beginning I was waiting for something paranormal to happen but Lauren's story is so absorbing and captivating that after a few pages I didn't mind at all. The way events develop keep you at the edge of your seat the whole book and the twists and turns are unimaginable.The romance is cute, sexy. The tension between them is undeniable but it's a clean romance. Though, some moments left me breathless. *woot woot*" It wouldn't matter if he turned out to be a serial killer, my certainty that he was definitely the man of my dreams was cemented, and I was undeniably destined to be with him"Who wouldn't kill for that feeling!!!Characters:Lauren is the kind of heroine that I like. Strong, impulsive and witty. She is not perfect, nobody wants to read about a perfect girl anyway! Sometimes she appeared to me a little pushy with Max especially at the beginning but of course, she has a MAJOR reason for that :)Seth: he annoyed me a little but I can relate to him 100% so after a while I started to comprehend his POV and liked him more.Max: Oh my! *sigh* delicious, yummy, sexy, swoon worthy companion for Lauren. From the start, I liked him. A mysterious air around him only made him more appealing. He is also, considerate, protective, smart but with those flaws that make you smile when you read about them.Rachael: She is a great supporting character, has an important role in one of those very crucial moments.Writing: Superb! lovely, lovely, so smooth, it flows effortless. The dialogues are dynamic, entertaining and fast paced.The end: OMG! What is going to happen next I have so many questions!Would I recommend it ABSOLUTELY! Plus I'm a sucker for stories that involve dreams and destiny.Meeting Destiny is a mix of love story, mystery, suspense, fantasy, and paranormal. The book starts off with amazing action and continues on from there. It also goes a little deeper as it tackles things like destiny, courage, sacrifice, hope, and love. It leaves you thinking and considering deeper meanings outside of just the plot long after you close the book.The characters are real and engaging. I found myself wanting a happily ever after for all of them.Lauren, the main character, is a senior in college and has always had an uncanny gut instinct about people. I love her slightly sarcastic personality and her deep devotion to family and friends. Her actions show us that she is also courageous, humble, and a survivor. Max, is her Mr. Destiny. You will fall in love with him. He is honest, humble, and respectful. He isn't perfect but he has morals and I just love that he respected the boundaries of an already established relationship.I will warn you that the ending is a HUGE cliff hanger. It was 10:30 p.m. when I finished reading the book and at the end I was yelling, "No, no, no". I had to exercise extreme self-discipline to not buy and start the second book immediately.
